Kathleen M. "Kate" Meusel, 83, of Stockton, IL, formerly of Galena, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3 P/M - 6 P/M, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound, IL.

Graveside committal services will be at the Schapville Zion Presbyterian Cemetery in Schapville, at a later date, with Pastor Dottie Morizzo officiating.

Kate was born on April 6, 1939, in Galena, the daughter of John H. and Ann L. (McLaughlin) Geiger. She was united in marriage to Benjamin F. "Ben" Meusel on November 21, 1957, in Galena. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2015.

Kate was a graduate of the Galena High School, Class of 1957. She was formerly employed as a Dental Assistant.

Surviving is a son, Michael (Sue) Meusel, of Scales Mound, IL; three grandchildren, April (Brenden) Pautsch, Troy (Katie) Meusel and Shawn (Katie) Meusel; eight great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caitlyn, and Keegan Pautsch, Sutton and Charlotte Meusel and Eric, Luke and Sidney Meusel; her siblings, Mary Ann (Cy) Lacke, of Wisconsin and John Geiger of Moline, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Ann; her husband, Ben; and a grandson, Kurt Meusel.

Kate's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community and Hospice of Dubuque for their kind and compassionate care.
