Judith P. Dixon, 68, of 1520 Field Street, Galena, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away at 3:20 A/M, Saturday, October 27, 2012, at home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 A/M, Monday, October 29, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Galena, IL, with Rev. Dennis Hill and Rev. Stephen Lundgren officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 A/M, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
Friends may call after 9 A/M, Monday, October 29, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Galena, and from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Judith was born on January 11, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Peter and Pauline (Schou) Touzios. She was a graduate of South Shore High School, Chicago.
Judith formerly owned and operated the Colonial Coffee Shop in Park Ridge, IL and Captain Harris Guest House in Galena. She was a member of the Galena Elks Lodge #882 and the Galena Artists Guild. She had a multitude of artistic endeavors, including interior design and painting. Judith was a great supporter of the Arts.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Louizos (42) and Michael Louzios (38), both of Chicago; her partner of 16 years, Ed Schmit, Galena, IL; and a sister, Mary Nelson, Galena, IL.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be given to Lord of Love Lutheran Church and the Midwest Medical Center, both of Galena, IL.
