Joseph M. Degenhardt, 49, of Sanford, Florida, formerly or rural Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died from a drowning accident at 12:22 A/M, Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Lake Monroe in Seminole County, FL.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Private family services will be held at a later time.

The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, is assisting the family.

Joe was born on July 2, 1963, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of James H and Dorothy M. (George) Degenhardt. He was a 1981 graduate of Southwestern High School at Hazel Green.

He was a general laborer in construction.

Surviving are his parents, Jim & Dorothy Degenhardt of rural Hazel Green, a brother, Chad (Jen) Degenhardt of East Dubuque, Illinois, and two nephewsw, Sean and James.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jamie in 1977, his grandparents, Albert & Eunice Degenhardt and Ervin & Catherine George.
