John E. Leiser, 65, of Conyers, GA, and formerly of Dubuque, IA, passed away, on Friday, September 12, 2014, at home.
Graveside services will be on Monday, September 22, 2014, at 11 A/M, at Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.
Visitation will be from 5 P/M to 8 P/M, on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL.
John was born on June 29, 1949, in Dubuque, IA, the son of John E. and Dorothy A. (Scadden) Leiser. He graduated from the Univerity of Dubuque with a degree in Accounting in 1971. He moved to Conyers, GA, in 1988, and was Vice-President of ISC, Inc. until his retirement in 2011.
John enjoyed family vacations to Lake Michigan and frequent visits to Dubuque for the Leiser Christmas and annual golf tournament. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Honey Creek Golf Club for over 25 years. His proudest golf moment was a double eagle on the 5th hole at Honey Creek on December 8, 1996. His love of the game was contagious and brought many to love the sport, especially when they were fortunate to play a round with him.
Surviving are two (2) children, Brandon M. (wife, Linda) Leiser and Meredith R. (husband, Jason) Linscott; along with seven (7) grandchildren, Joshua, Brodie, Aldan, and Edie Leiser and John, Emma, and Tristan Linscott; a sister, Jan Leiser (Dennis Runde) of Hazel Green, WI; many nieces, nephews and their families; and his friend, Gail Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Dorothy Leiser; and his sister, Jackie A. (Leiser) Briggs, all of Dubuque, IA.
