John J. Kachka, 81, of Apple River, IL, passed peacefully in his home 11/08/24. Retired Chicago Police Lieutenant and Proud USMC veteran. Loving Father to Kimberly (Grandson Ben), brother to Karen (Steve) Smith and the late Gregory. Dear Cousin to Val and Inna (son Dmytro) who he helped to immigrate from Ukraine and to become US Citizens.  Avid dog lover survived by his loving companion, Vixen. Interment private.
