Obituary

John K. Williams, 81, of Galena, IL passed away Thursday afternoon, December 20, 2012, at home, of an apparent heart attack.

Memorial Services will be at 11 A/M, Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Galena United Methodist Church with Pastor Patricia Allen-Stewart officiating. Private family burial will be in the Hazel Green, WI Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, is assisting the family.

John was born on August 9, 1931 in rural Hazel Green, WI, the son of Thomas Hobart and Alice P. (Kendall) Williams.

John was a graduate of Hazel Green High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. John was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and following his discharge from service, he returned to the UW-Madison and received his Master's of Science degree. Prior to retirement, John was employed in Quality Assurance for Kraft Foods.

John married Gail Little on February 15, 1964 at Edgerton, WI. John loved golfing, skiing, walking, and singing in the Galena United Methodist Church Choir. He was a big brother, tutored, was a member of the Odd Fellows, and belonged on the Galena Territory Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Surviving are his wife, Gail; four children, Carmen (Albert) Feyto, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Karen (Chad) Johansson, of Belvidere, IL, Heather (Kenneth) Wick, of Island Lake, IL, and Jolin (Daniel) Kania, of Round Lake, IL; seven grandchildren, Talisha Feyto, Jamie Feyto, Trisha (Johansson) Colon, Spring Johansson, Brenna Johansson, Chase Kania and Paige Kania; one brother, George (Alice) Williams, of Platteville, WI; one sister, Phyllis (Edward) Reynolds, of Madison, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Susan (Erwin) Graham, Doris (John) Contin, Henry Williams, Helen (John) Bowden, Ruth (Warren) Bowden, and James (Shirley) Williams.

Memorials may be given to the Galena Territory Foundation Scholarship Fund and the Galena United Methodist Church.
