JoAnn E. Williams, 82, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away at 2:40 A/M, Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Manor Care, in Dubuque, IA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Scales Mound, with Fr. Thomas Srenn officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 A/M to 10:30 A/M, on Wednesday, at the church.

The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, of Scales Mound, is in charge of arrangements.

JoAnn was born on January 11, 1936, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Jym and Grace (Jansen) Ganahl.  She married Lawrence R. Williams on July 29, 1961.  He preceded her in death on January 22, 1977.

Surviving are three (3) children, Steve (Gini) Williams and Julie (Jeff) Kring, both of Bellevue, IA, and Alan (Erin) Williams, of Beaver Dam, WI; a daughter-in-law, Emma Williams, of Chula Vista, CA; five (5) grandchildren, Abigail, Samantha, Elizabeth, Zachary and Emily; a sister, Shirley (Robert) McLaughlin, of Dubuque, IA; a sister-in-law, Mona Swanson, of Gilson, IL; and a brother-in-law, Ted (Fritzi) Williams, of Argyle, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jym and Grace; her husband, Lawrence; a son, Thomas Williams; her father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Williams, previously of Benton, WI; her two (2) brothers, Robert and Kenneth Ganahl; and a sister, June Seitz.

Memorials may be given to the Thomas Williams Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Dubuque.

JoAnn's family wishes to express "sincere thanks" to the nurses and staff from Hospice of Dubuque, especially Paul and Julie, for all of their care and support!
