Joan M. Schoen, 85, of East Dubuque, IL, formerly of Dubuque, IA, passed away, peacefully, at 2 P/M, on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, IA, surrounded by her loving family,
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, with the rosary/scripture service at 3:45 P/M, and from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Joan was born on July 3, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the daughterr of Frank and Ruth (Lobstein) Prindiville. She was a 1953 graduate of the University of Illinois, at Champaign, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. Joan was united in marriage to John Schoen on January 8, 1955, in Chicago.
She loved golfing, playing bridge, and travel. Joan was a member of St. Mary's Parish. She was very devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, John; six (6) children, J. Andrew (Deb) Schoen, of Dallas, TX, Michael (Vicky) Schoen, of Green Bay, WI, Susan (Russ) Coblentz, of Naperville, IL, Peter (Karla) Schoen, of Dubuque, IA, Laura (Jeff) Mootz, of Neenah, WI and Daniel (Roberta) Schoen, of Dubuque, IA; fourteen (14) grandchildren, Christopher, Kim, Connor, Kaylee, Russsell, Brittney, Courtney, Brandon, Brooke, Eric, Emily, Alexander, Natalie and Dalton; three (3) great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Silas and Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Richard (Majel) Prindiville.
John and family wish to "thank" the nurses, Karen, Liz, Laura, Sister Brigid, and the staff at Mercy Medical Center for the excellent care provided to Joan.
Memorials may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Schoen Family Charitable Trust.
