Joan M. Geisler, 85, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Ennoble Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dubuque.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Nativity Church in Dubuque, with Msgr. James Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
Visitation will be after 9 A/M on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Nativity Church.
The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.
Joan was born on May 21, 1930, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Arthur P. and Ursula (Graf) Geisler.
She graduated from St. Clara Academy, Sinsinawa, WI, and the University of Wisconsin at Platteville.
Joan worked as a Secretary at Geisler Brothers. She was Excecutive Director of the Little Cloud Girl Scout Council. Joan Geisler and Joan Briggs started Printers Plus in 1988. She was also a former member of the Iowa State Conservation Commission.
She was a lifelong member of the Nativity Church in Dubuque.
Her hobbies were traveling, photography, crafts and boating.
Joan is survived by six (6) nephews; two (2) nieces; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur P. & Ursula (Graf) Geisler; her sister, Catherine O'Dowd; a brother-in-law, C. T. "Mike" O'Dowd; a niece, Cathy O'Dowd; a nephew, Richard O'Dowd; a sister, Eleanor Davis; a brother-in-law, John Davis; a niece, Francie Davis; and Joan Briggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials by be given to Nativity Church, Hospice of Dubuque or the charity of your choice.
Joan's family wishes to "thank" Dr Cao, Ennoble Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitatioon Center and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care provided to Joan.
