Jerome C. "Jerry" Putz, 73, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away, following a sudden illness, on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, IA.

A memorial visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where a time of sharing will be at 6:30 P/M, on Thursday.

Jerry was born on January 11, 1943, in Dyersville, IA, the son of Anton and Marcella (Kruse) Putz. He married Judith Hopkins-Licht on February 3, 1990, in Dubuque, IA.

Jerry was formerly employed by Mueller Pipeline, later known as InfraSource, retiring in 2008. He was a natural gas pipeliner foreman. Jerry was an active woodworker and loved all sports. He was a Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Surviving are his wife, Judith (Hopkins-Licht) Putz; son, Jeff (Courtney) Putz, of Aldi, VA; two (2) grandsons, Brandon and Collin; and a granddaughter, Skylar; a daughter, Mariah (and her significant other, Andrew Wallace) Licht, of East Dubuque, IL; a daughter, Laura (Kevin) Ruggles, of Dubuque, IA; and a son, Kenneth (Anita) Licht, of Hartsville, TN; a grandson, Ryan (and his significant other, Krystal Harmening) Ziehlke; two (2) great-grandchildren, Matthew and Summer; two (2) siblings, David (Delores) Putz, of Greeley, IA, and Verna Mae (Don) Leuck, of Dyersville, IA.

His past and present dogs were a very important part of Jerry's life, namely, Shadow, Lacey, Molly and Annie.

He was preceded in death by his stillborn daughter, Paula Marie; his parents; three (3) brothers, Harold, Walter and Fred; and two (2) sisters, Pearl and Alice.

A Jerome (Jerry) Putz Memorial Fund has been established.
