Jean A. (Blum) Foht, 92, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 8:27 A/M, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A/M, Saturday, May 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, with Rev. Michael Barry officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
A private family visitation will be held Saturday morning at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque.
Mrs. Foht was born on November 10, 1920, in East Dubuque, the daughter of Awall and Marcena (Brauhn) Blum. She was united in marriage to Jerome H. "Jerry" Foht on May 18, 1943 at St. Patrick's Church in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1983.
Jean was a member of St. Mary's Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society.
Jean was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed cooking and canning. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was one of the best babysitters. Jean was also an avid bingo player. She enjoyed the annual camping trips with family and the games played with her grandchildren when they visited her.
Surviving are three children, Richard (Ruth) Foht, of East Dubuque, IL, Greg (Jeanne) Foht, of Dubuque, IA, and Kathy (Wayne) Harris, of Cuba City, WI; a daughter-in-law, Sherry (special friend, John Williams) Foht, of East Dubuque, IL; Eleven Grandchildren, Jason (Eugenia) Foht, Jonathan & Justin Foht, Kim (Tom) Kelzer, Kelli Foht and Kory Foht, Ryan (Gina Winkler) Harris, Jeremy (Pamela) Harris, Tyler (Kayla) Harris, Jeff Foht and Ken (Sharon Dumoulin) Foht; Nine Great-Grandchildren, Amber Foht, Natalie, Emma & Maggie Kelzer, Ava Dumoulin, Lexi, Maci, Tenley & Zoey Harris and two great-grandchildren on the way; one great great-grandson, Malachi Jefferson; her sister, Lois Dean, of Dubuque, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; three sons, Dennis, David and Stephen Foht; and a brother-in-law, George Dean.
The family would like to give special "thanks" to Dr. Mark Hermann and Tony, Dr. Garrett Ridgeley, the Oncology staff at Dubuque Internal Medicine, and to Hospice of Dubuque, especially Megan, for the wonderul care provided to their mother.
