Mrs. Lloyd (Janice E.) Schardt, 74, of 3460 Starlite Drive, Dubuque, IA, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, and the Quad Cities, passed away at 7:45 A/M, on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, on Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, with Pastor Leah Barker officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 P/M to 5 P/M, on Sunday, September 28th, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque.

Janice was born on October 31, 1939, in Hazel Green, WI, the daughter of John R. and Merita I. (Redfern) Russell. She married Lloyd J. Schardt on August 2, 2002, in Dubuque, IA.

She was formerly employed as a teller in the banking industry for over 30 years in the Quad Cities, and later worked at Lowe's in Dubuque and Walmart in Galena.

Janice enjoyed quilting, crocheting, shopping and the time spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Dubuque Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd; four (4) daughters, Pam (Rick) Goodwin, of Port Byron, IL, Lori Holt, of East Moline, IL, Valerie (Doug) Oglevie, of Arvada, CO, and Julie Hudson, of Moline, IL; three (3) stepchildren, Gary (Sheri) Schardt, of North Liberty,. IA, Luke (Ellen) Schardt, of Dubuque, IA, and Kelly (Tyler) Kowalski, of Ft. Wainwright, AK; nine (9) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren; four (4) step grandchildren; and a brother, Jack (Nancy) Russell, of Geneseo, IL.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Godsey.

Lloyd and family wish to "thank" the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Dubuque Nursing & Rehab, and Hospice of Dubuque for the special care provided to Janice.
