James E. "Jim" Leibold, 75, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, at UPH-The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, IA, with his loving family by his side.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Monday, July 27, 2015, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 P/M to 6 P/M on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish rosary will be recited at 12:30 P/M on Sunday. Additional visitation will be from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M on Monday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on November 16, 1939, in East Dubuque, the son of John N. and Rosalie (Rierdon) Leibold. He married Mary Lu Goldhagen on May 16, 1961, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Sinsinawa, WI.
He was employed by Spahn & Rose Lumber Company in East Dubuque, the Dubuque Packing Company and Fischer Scientific.
Jim was a skilled woodworker and especially loved to make handcrafted keepsakes for his family. In recent years he enjoyed daily leisurely drives around the area to visit with friends. For many years he enjoyed hunting with his sons, grandchildren and buddies.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lu; three (3) children, James J. (Teresa) Leibold, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Craig P. (Nancyruth) Leibold, of St. Paul, MN, and Gina M. (Patrick) Lange, of East Dubuque, IL; eight (8) grandchildren, Marissa Leibold, James R. Leibold, Nic Leibold, Joseph (Katie) Lange, Alison (Jake) Klein, Janessa, Adam and Jacob Lange; his siblings, Margaret "Mag" Buse, Alice (Don) Pettit, Sheila (Jim) Meyer, Paul (Mary Jean) Leibold, and Val (Goody) Leibold; his in-laws, Elaine (Denny) Rath, Ardelle "Toots" Leibold, Bob Schmitt, Vernon Goldhagen, Richard (Nancy) Goldhagen, Margie (Herb) Havertape, and Carol (Norm) Niemeyer.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosalie; four (4) sisters, Helen Droessler, Kate Temperley, Rose Ann Schmitt and Linda Leibold; three (3) brothers, Phillip "Flip", Peter and John H Leibold; his in-laws, Ed Droessler, David Buse, Carol Leibold, Jeanette (Dick) Rigdon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Regina Goldhagen.
