James J. "Jim" Feltes, 67, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 3:45 A/M, Thursday, February 14, 2013, at home, with his family by his side after a short illness.

Private services for his immediate family will be Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, with Msgr. James Barta officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Jim was born on August 28, 1945, at Worthington, IA, the son of Urban and Germaine (Hillebrand) Feltes. He married Carol Jackson on November 14, 1969, at Epworth, IA.

He formerly worked in the transportation industry for many years, and later in the tool and die profession until his retirement.

Family and grandchildren were a very important part of Jim's life. He also enjoyed fishing and time spent at the casino.

Surviving are his wife, Carol; two children; Brian (Linda)Feltes, of Dickeyville, WI, and Vicki (Rick) Hefel, of East Dubuque, IL; seven grandchildren; his siblings; Betty Heiring, of Florida, Jane (Dennis) Wedewer, of New Vienna, IA, Urban Feltes, Jr. (special friend, Linda), of Delaware, IA, David (Nancy) Feltes, of Worthington, IA, and Ronald Feltes, of Cedar Rapids, IA; his mother-in-law, Rosella Hill, of Dubuque, IA; his father-in-law, Orville Jackson, of Bellevue, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, a Jim Feltes Memorial Fund has been established.

Special thanks to all family members for everything done for Jim and his family since his illness, and to Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care provided to Jim.
