James H. "Jim" Degenhardt, 77, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, from injuries sustained in a lawn tractor accident at Birchwood Golf Course.
Graveside services will be at 9:15 A/M, on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the East Dubuque Cemetery, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the scripture prayer service will be at 3:45 P/M, Tuesday.
Jim was born on February 13, 1939, in East Dubuque, the son of Albert and Eunice (Bonnet) Degenhardt. He was a graduate of East Dubuque High School, Class of 1957. He was united in marriage to Dorothy M. George, on May 2, 1959, at St. Mary's Church, in Dubuque, IA.
He was formerly employed at Flynn Ready Mix, from 1974-1982, Dorothy and he operated Jim's Supper Club (now Country Heights) in rural Hazel Green, he later drove truck for Wieser Trucking and Stewart Construction Company. Jim was also the food and beverage manager for the Silver Eagle Casion for five years.
Jim loved hunting, golfing, dining out, traveling, gardening and trapshooting. If a helping hand was needed, he was there.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a son, Chad (Jennifer) Degenhardt, of East Dubuque, IL; two (2) grandsons, James and Sean; a brother, Randy (Laura) Degenhardt, of East Dubuque, IL; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two (2) sons, James and Joseph; and a sister, Judy Ann.
In lieu of flowers, a Jim Degenhardt Memorial Fund has been established.
