James B. "Jim" Budden, 87, of rural Cuba City, WI, passed away on Monday afternoon, December 7, 2015, on the family farm, from an apparent heart attack.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at St. Joseph's Church, at Sinsinawa, WI, with Fr. Kenneth Frisch and Fr. Wayne Droessler concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery
Visitation will be from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, December 11, 2015, and from 9:00 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, where the Parish Scripture Service will be held on Friday at 2:45 P/M.
Jim was born on August 15, 1928, in Jamestown Township, of Grant County, WI, the son of Arthur and Clara (Placke) Budden. He married Arlene J. Hilby, on November 10, 1954, at Nativity BVM Church, at Menominee, IL.
Jim was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, its Holy Name Society, and was head of St. Joseph's Cemetery for thirty (30) years. Jim's passion in life was farming and driving his International tractors.
Jim loved a good game of cards, especially euchre, solitaire and solo. He enjoyed watching the TV show, RFD. He kept very meticulous records of the daily weather happenings for at least forty (40) years.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene, six (6) children, Janet (Donald) Godfrey, of Denver, CO, Gary Budden (friend, Jolene), Kevin (Janet) Budden, and Randy Budden, all of Cuba City, WI, Judy (Dave) Kelly, of Prairie du Chien, WI, and Karen (Paul) Wagner, of Dubuque, IA; Eleven (11) Grandchildren, Kyle, Brett (Sarah), Scott, Stacy (Doug), Aaron, Casey (friend, Mili), Jacob, Shawn, Tony, Michelle and Abby; two (2) Great-Grandchildren, Natalie and Sadie; his siblings, Joan Kieler, of Hazel Green, WI, Lois (Cletus) Hilby, of Menominee, IL, Ellen Timmerman, of Cuba City, WI, and Richard (Kay) Budden, of Hazel Green, WI; a sister-in-law, Judy Budden-Takes, of Cuba City, WI; his in-laws, Jane (Tony) Middendorf, of Menominee, IL, Mae (Jerry) Kuhl, of Hazel Green, WI, Mary Hilby, of Mineral Point, WI, and Wilma Hilby, of Menominee, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clara; a son in infancy, Brian; a son-in-law, Dave Cammack; his brother, Roger Budden; and in-laws, Clair Kieler, Richard Timmerman, Luella (Pope) Belken, Earl Hilby, Ethel (Heiny) Martin, Helen (Don) Roth, Lillian (Howard) Tranel, Vi (Dorrance) Pluym, and Richard Hilby.
