Obituary
Helen J. Kraft, 83, of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, IA, formerly of 3175 Pennsylvania Avenue, Dubuque, IA, and East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 10:55 A/M, Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Stonehill Care Center, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Monday, September 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, with Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 P/M to 5 P/M, Sunday, September 1st, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where the parish rosary will be recited at 12:45 P/M.
Helen was born on February 5, 1930, in Dubuque, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Lambert) Jungblut. She married Leo J. Kraft on October 8, 1949, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dubuque. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2003.
Helen was a member of St. Mary's Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society. Helen's greatest joy in life was time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her fabulous cooking and baking. Everyone was always welcome in Helen and Leo's home.
Surviving are four daughters, Laura (Nick) Fiel, of San Diego, CA, JoAnne (Don) Loeffelholz, of East Dubuque, IL, Caroline (Dr. Greg) delCampo, of Temecula, CA, and Martha (Ron) Stadtmueller, of San Diego, CA; four sons, Steve (Linda) Kraft, of Dubuque, IA, Ted (Trish) Kraft, of East Dubuque, IL, John (Nichole) Kraft, of Peosta, IA, and Jason Kraft, of East Dubuque, IL; sixteen grandchildren, Steve, Jeremy, Rachel, Jeffrey, Mandy, D.J., Ali, Joe, Maddi, Jojo, Codi, Tyler, Austin, Michael, Molly, and Aaron; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, William (Kathleen) Jungblut, of Asbury, IA, Madonna (John) Goodsell, of Naperville, IL, and Margaret (Whitey) Wallig, of Wilmington, DE; her in-laws, Bud Batteram, of Hazel Green, WI, Charles (Lisa) Kraft, of Sun Lake, AZ, and Marilyn Hughes, of Dubuque, IA.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joleen; a brother, Joseph Jungblut; and a sister, Mary Jane Johannsen.
Helen's family would like to give "special thanks" to the staffs at Hospice of Dubuque and Stonehill Care Center for the wonderful and gracious care provided to their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother!
