Obituary
Helen Jane Boyd, 102, Galena, IL, died at 3:30 P/M, Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community.
Funeral Services will be at 2 P/M, Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, with Rev. Jim McCrea officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. Friends may call after 1 P/M, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Jane was born on May 13, 1910, in Galena, the daughter of Charles K. and Mabel J. (Conoughy) Rouse. She married Willard V. Boyd in 1934 at Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1975.
Jane was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church, and the order of the Eastern Star, Galena Chapter #740. She took a keen interest in people.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Rebecca (Bret) Dublinske, Urbandale, IA; a great-granddaughter, Carmen; a daughter-in-law, Irene Boyd, Des Moines, IA; and numerous beloved cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Kirk Boyd, in 1966.
Jane's family wishes to thank the staff at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community for their care and patience, especially these past few years.
Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Galena, and Hospice of Dubuque.
