Gilbert B. "Gib-Gibby" Kruser, 91, of Kieler, WI, passed away, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, IA.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Kieler, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where a parish scripture service will be at 2:45 P/M, Friday. Visitation will continue from 9 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, in Kieler.
Mr. Kruser was born on January 26, 1925, in rural Hazel Green, WI, the son of Bernard and Frances (Kuhle) Kruser. He was united in marriage to Eileen R. Nies, on March 30, 1948, at Patch Grove, WI. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2006.
He was employed by John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring after nearly (35) years of service. Gib was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and its Holy Name Society, a former member of the Jamestown Fire Department, the Kieler Athletic Club, he participated in the Kieler Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts, managed the Kieler softball team for many years, and enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and his passion of cutting grass for many area lawns in the Kieler area. He will be remembered for his dedication and hard work at the Kieler ball field and Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Surviving are his children, Linda (John) Hocking, of Kieler, WI, Karen (Dan) Petitgout, of East Dubuque, IL, Patricia Wilkinson and Rick Kruser, both of Kieler, WI, Barbara (Randy) McKeon, of Delmar, IA, Sheila (Dick) Lange, of Kieler, WI, Randy (Debra) Kruser, of Waunakee, WI, and Tom (Deidre) Kruser, of West Salem, WI; twenty-two (22) grandchildren; thirty-three (33) great-grandchildren; and four (4) great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lloyd Kruser, of Shullsburg, WI, Ed Kruser, of Potosi, WI, Eldon Kruser, of Benton, WI, Cletus (Esther) Kruser, of Hazel Green, WI, Harold (JoAnn) Kruser and Gerald (Vera) Kruser, both of Kieler, WI; two (2) sisters-in-law, Bernadine Stroede, of Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Madonna Nies, of Onalaska, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Frances; and wife, Eileen.
Gib's family would like to "thank" the Doctors and Nurses at Mercy Medical Center, especially ICU and Cardiac Medical for the excellent care given to their Dad.
