Gerald T. "Jerry" Puls, 76, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 9 A/M, on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community, Galena, IL.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, December 26, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish rosary/scripture service will be at 3:45 P/M, on Friday.
Jerry was born on August 8, 1938, in Hazel Green, WI, the son of Victor and Catherine (Vaassen) Puls.
Jerry married Juanita Weydert on June 24, 1962, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque.
He was a graduate of Elizabeth, IL High School, Class of 1956.
Jerry was formerly employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation and later was employed with Jeld-Wen, retiring as maintenance manager in 2000.
Jerry loved fishing, hunting, camping and time spent with family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita; five (5) children, Deanna (David) Jerry, of Scales Mound, IL, Denise (Dan) Hutchinson, of Manchester, IA, Brian Puls, of Orlando, FL, Lisa (Randy) John, of Cuba City, WI, and Lynn (Dave) Teply, of Menominee, IL; ten (10) grandchildren; six (6) step-grandchildren; and thirteen (13) great-grandchildren; one (1) brother, Vernon (Joanie) Puls, of Dubuque, IA; one (1) sister-in-law, Char Puls, of East Dubuque, IL; his in-laws, Paul (Gloria) Weydert, of Cascade, IA, J'Neane Weydert, of Dubuque, IA, and Cheryl (Gene) Hilby, of Richland Center, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Victor & Catherine; brothers, Vincent, Joe, Alan and Charlie; sisters, Alice Heim, Eleanor Dillon and Helena Brown; and his father and mother-in-law, Cletus and Mildred Weydert.
A Gerald T. Puls Memorial Fund has been established.
Juanita and family would like to express their "thanks" to Hospice of Dubuque, especially Megan, and the nurses and staff at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community, especially Janet and Alice, for the wonderful care give to Jerry.
