Gerald F. “Gerry” Placke, 88, of East Troy, WI., formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his home in East Troy, under the care of Hospice.

Private family graveside service will be Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Gerry was born on February 10, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Francis F. and Calista A. (Riesselman) Placke. He was a graduate of East Dubuque High School.

Gerry was a retired tool and die engineer having worked for over 54 years in the trade.

Surviving is his wife, Lana Placke; his children, Julie Placke, of Viera, Florida, Jill (Frank) Fellenz, of Amarillo, TX, Robert (Natalie) Placke, of Lake Geneva, WI, and Katherine (Dean) Baumbach, of Williams Bay, WI; grandchildren, Nicole, Jared, Brock, Shane, Shawn and Riley; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Wilder; his sister, Lynne Juergens, of Dubuque, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Calista Placke; and children, Jean and James.
