Genevieve C. (Yackey) Bonnett, 90, of Scales Mound, IL, and formerly of Brighton, IA, passed away at 1:08 P/M, Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Scales Mound United Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Allen-Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.

Friends may call after 9:30 A/M, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the church.

Genevieve was born on March 26, 1922 in Scales Mound, the daughter of Chris and Henrietta (Schultz) Yackey.

Genevieve married Charlie E. Bonnett on April 20, 1958 in Scales Mound. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1975.

Genevieve was a member of the Scales Mound United Methodist Church, the FHC, the 50+ Club, and a 50+ year member of the Iowa Order of the Eastern Star.

One of her favorite things to do was cracking walnuts.

Surviving are three nieces; Pauline (Tom) Otting, of Shullsburg, WI, Christine (Terry) Beyer, of Elizabeth, IL, and Mary Ellen (Christopher) Lyne, of Scales Mound, IL; three great nieces and a nephew, Amanda, Amy, Alycia and Austin; and numerous step-grandchildren.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Viola Curran; a nephew, Jim Curran; and three step-children, Dorothy, Marilyn and Katherine.
