Gary F. Redfearn, 70, of Galena, IL, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Midwest Medical Center, Galena, IL.

Funeral Services will be at 11 A/M, Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Council Hill Church, Council Hill, IL with Rev. Jim McCrea officiating. Burial will be in the Council Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 P/M to 7 P/M, Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, IL and after 10:30 A/M, Tuesday, at the Church.

Gary was born on the family farm near Council Hill on October 19, 1942, the son of Frank A. and Marguerite H. (March) Redfearn.

Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U. S. Army from 1961-1964.

Gary married Judith "Judy" Rogers on November 24, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Gary loved farming, loved to give his advice, enjoyed his puppies, but most of all loved his family, especially his great-grandson, Myles.

Gary was a member of the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife, Judy; three grandchildren, Keith (Tara) Redfearn, Scales Mound, IL, Melissa Redfearn, St. Paul, MN, and Kayla Redfearn, Manchester, IA; one great grandchild and one due in March, 2013; his sister, Jean (Dale) Kean, Hanover, IL; his-in-laws, Linda (Robert) Nelson, Elgin, IL, and Rick (Carol) Rogers, Chicago, IL; a niece, Autumn (Gordon) Crull; and two nephews, Zak (Cynthia) Abrams and Richie Rogers.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Chris and Ken.
