Gary M. Hoppman, 56, of rural East Dubuque, IL, passed away, on Wednesday evening, August 10, 2016, at home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A/M, on Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, with Fr. Stephen Lundgren officiating. Burial will be in Nativity BVM Cemetery, in Menominee, IL.

Visitation will be from 2 P/M to 6 P/M, on Sunday, August 14, 2016, and after 9:30 A/M, on Monday, prior to services, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque.

Gary was born on March 1, 1960, at Hazel Green, WI, the son of Thomas and Doris (Kuhl) Hoppman. He was united in marriage to Lisa Baker, on September 25, 1982, in Dubuque, IA.

Gary was employed at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena. He enjoyed golf, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and was a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan.

Surviving are two (2) sons, Jason (Melissa) Hoppman, of Red Wing, MN, and Matthew (Becca McGee) Hoppman, of Dubuque, IA; six (6) grandchildren, Kayleigh, Emma, Addison, Norah, Thomas and James; his mother, Doris Hoppman, of East Dubuque; his siblings, Gayle (Jeff) Springer, of Dubuque, IA, Todd Hoppman, of East Dubuque, IL, Randy (Sue) Hoppman, of Galena, IL, and Clark (Karen) Hoppman, of Shullsburg, WI; and his former wife, Lisa Hoppman, of Waukee, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom; a brother, Marty; his grandparents, Phillip & Genevieve Hoppman and Melvin & Marie Kuhl.

A Gary M. Hoppman Memorial Fund has been established.

Jason and Matt wish to "thank" the Oncology Department and Dr. Schultz, at Swedish-American Hospital in Rockford, Dr. Greg Vandigo and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and kindness given to their Dad.
