Gale Ann (Gantenbein) Luchterhand, 83, of East Dubuque, IL, formerly of Ormond Beach, FL, and Dubuque, IA, passed away, at 12:45 P/M, on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the home of her son, Kris Luchterhand, in East Dubuque.

A funeral mass will be at a later date at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Daytona Beach, FL.

Gale was born on July 12, 1933, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Pete and Dorothy (Kann) Rokusek. She married Roger Luchterhand, who preceded her in death, in 1978.

Gale moved to Florida approximately thirty-six (36) years ago. Gale loved having family come to Florida to visit. She loved a good cold beer and was an avid euchre player. Her pets were her pride and joy. Most of them she picked up from the Humane Society. Gale was a proud supporter of Hillary Clinton. She now hopes someone from her family will vote for her.

Surviving is her son, Kris, and fiance' (Pam Hoftender) of East Dubuque, IL; three (3) grandchildren, Matthew (fiance', Shannon Boock) Luchterhand, of Des Moines, IA, Angie Luchterhand, of Ormond Beach, FL, and Michael Luchterhand, of East Dubuque, IL; one (1) great-granddaughter, Dezi, of Ormond Beach, FL; her sister, Toni O'Daniel, of Benton, KY; and a brother, P. J. Rokusek, of Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews, Johnny, Joey, Billy, Shaune and Cindy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Dorothy; her husband, Roger; a son, Terry; and a brother-in-law, John O'Daniel.

A Gale Ann Luchterhand Memorial Fund has been established for Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL.

Gale's family wishes to send "special thanks" to Amy Nolte, the staff at Manor Care Health Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque nurses, Kathy and Megan, for their kind and compassionate care.
