Frances E. Bayer, 66, 18207 Highway 20 W, East Dubuque, IL, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at home.
Funeral Services will be at 7 P/M, Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where friends may call from 4 P/M to 7 P/M.
Fran was born on June 15, 1946, in Houston, TX, daughter of John and Eva (Pipes) Sumerau. She was a graduate of East Dubuque High School, Class of 1964. She married Melvin Bayer on November 25, 1967 at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, and together they raised one daughter.
Fran worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. She was formerly employed at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA, and the Southwest Behavioral Science Center in Cuba City, WI.
Surviving are her husband, Melvin Bayer; a daughter, Brenda (Duane) Foust, East Dubuque, IL; two grandchildren, Cassandra Foust and Lindsay (Matthew) Johnson; a sister, Barbara Miller; and a nephew, Raymond Sumerau.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
