Floyd K. Molitor, 65, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, WI.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Scales Mound, with Fr. David Reese officiating. Burial will be in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Scales Mound, where the parish rosary will be recited at 3:45 P/M, and from 9:30 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Wednesday, at the church.

Floyd was born on November 7, 1950, in Hazel Green, WI, the son of Leo and Ethel (Curtis) Molitor. He was a graduate of Scales Mound High School and was united in marriage to Marleen Grindey on February 20, 1971, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He was formerly employed at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Freeport, IL, until his retirement. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to auctions, traveling, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a retired member of the Scales Mound Volunteer Fire Department and a member of F.O.E., #952, of Galena.

Surviving are his wife, Marleen, two (2) children, Heather (Maurice) Holloway, of Freeport, IL, and Christopher (Samantha Turner) Molitor, of Scales Mound, IL, four (4) grandchildren, Maurice, Jr., Xavier and Rheanna Holloway and Elijah Molitor; three (3) siblings, Leo Molitor and Rose Davis, both of Dubuque, IA, and Jim (Cenzie) Molitor, of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ethel Molitor; two (2) sisters, Joyce Schoenhardt and Susan Brimeyer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Lila Grindey; and a brother-in-law, James Grindey.

The family wishes to give "special thanks" to the East Dubuque Area Ambulance Service, Mercy Medical Center ER Department, Air Care Ambulance, and 4th floor nurses and staff at UW Hospital, Madison, for the special care and compassion shown to Floyd and his family.
