Obituary

Eldon J Arensdorff, 89, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away at 6:20 A/M, Monday morning, December 29, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, IA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Friday, January 2, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sinsinawa, WI, with Fr. Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Thursday, January 1, 2015, and from 8:45 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where the parish scripture service will be recited at 3:30 P/M, on Thursday.

Eldon was born on March 6, 1925, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Arnold and Florence (Koltes) Arensdorff. He was united in marriage to Marie B. Wagner, on April 23, 1946, at St. Mary's Church, Dubuque.

Eldon and Marie farmed in rural Hazel Green, retiring in 2000.

Eldon was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and its Holy Name Society. He loved farming, gardening, his International tractors and a good game of euchre.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; six (6) children, Carol (Ken) Stagman, of Hazel Green, WI, Merlin (Judy) Arensdorff, of Eldridge, IA, Alan (Tracey) Arensdorff and Larry Arensdorff, both of Hazel Green, WI, Joan Mai, of East Dubuque, IL, and Roger (Melissa) Arensdorff, of Cuba City, WI; fourteen (14) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren and one due in March, 2015; a sister, Marie Schueller, of Dubuque, IA; three (3) aunts, Marcella Jaeger, Marcella Koltes, Alberta Lahey; and in-laws, William (Donna) Wagner and Irene "Babe" Kienzle.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold & Florence Arensdorff; two (2) sons, Jerome E. and Donald W. Arensdorff; a grandson, Brad Arensdorff; his father and mother-in-law, Peter & Rosalia (Naumann) Wagner; and his in-laws, Walter Schueller, Clem & Loyola Wagner, Ed & Celestine Kueter, Raphael & Verna Mae Wagner, Robert Kienzle and Eileen Wagner.

Marie and family wish to "thank" the nurses and staff in the Cardio-Vascular Unit at Mercy Medical Center for the wonderful care given to Eldon.
