Obituary

Eldeen M. (Bauer) Wiederhold, 82, of Dickeyville, WI passed away at 8:40 A/M, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Oak Park Place, Dubuque, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Holy Ghost Church, Dickeyville, with Rev. Bernard Rott and Rev. Francis Steffen officiating. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL where the parish rosary will be recited at 2:45 P/M. Friends may also call from 9 A/M to 10 A/M on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Eldeen was born on March 12, 1930 near Menominee, IL, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Welter) Bauer. She married Firmin "Pat" Wiederhold on June 27, 1951 at Nativity BVM Church, Menominee, IL. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2009.

Eldeen was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, Dubuque, IA. She was Village Clerk of Dickeyville in 1952-1953, a Girl Scout Troop organizer and Girl Scout Leader in the 1960's, a board member of the Senior Housing Authority from 2004-2012, and a member of the Holy Ghost Parish and its Council of Catholic Women. She retired from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1997.

Eldeen and Pat traveled extensively through 49 of the 50 states plus all of the provinces of Canada.

Surviving are her five children, Kathy Hannan, Epworth, IA, Steven (Debra) Wiederhold, Saco, ME, Jerry (Cindy) Wiederhold, Dickeyville, WI, Tom Wiederhold, Dubuque, IA, and Mary (Roger) Edwards, Madison, WI; five Grandchildren, Carrie, Cody and Caitlan Hannan, and Sarah and Brian Wiederhold; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Simon and Liam Hannan; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Bauer, Menoninee, IL, and Donald (Betty) Bauer, Lancaster, WI; two sisters, Lillian (Roger) VanNatta, Stitzer, WI, and Charlotte (Jerry) Heitkamp, Menominee, IL; and a step-sister, Dorothy (Elmer) Kaiser, Dickeyville, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Edna Bauer; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Freese.
