Edith E. (Scheppele) Schadey, 87, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, at UPH-The Finley Hospital, in Dubuque, IA.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 A/M, on Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, with Pastor Kayla Lange officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 9 A/M, on Friday, at the Miller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schadey was born on August 4, 1927, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Earl F. and Edna (Brother) Scheppele. She married Arthur A. Schadey on August 19, 1978. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1984.

She was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School and was formerly employed at Regency Thermographers, Dubuque Stamp, and Bishop's Buffet. Edith was an avid card player and enjoyed the various bus trips to the different casino's. She loved gardening, fishing and hunting squirrels.

Surviving are a step-son, Robert (Brittany) Schadey, of Christiansburg, VA; her former daughter-in-law, Tricia Blaylock, of Phoenix, AZ; three (3) grandchildren, Hannah, Madeline, and Vivian; three (3) step-grandchildren, Claudia, Jack, and Mathew; three (3) sisters, Myo (Elaine) Boyer and Barbara (Donald) Becker, both of Dubuque, IA, and Jeanne (Lynden) Marshall, of Sherrill, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Edna; her husband, Arthur A. Schadey; and her siblings, Marilyn "Bootsi" Fox, Joyce Lolwing and Paul Scheppele.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.

Edith's family would like to give "special thanks" to the nursing staff at The Finley Hospital, and for the wonderful and loving care provided by Hospice of Dubuque.
