Dorothy Marie Paulson, 78, of East Dubuque, IL, formerly of Bemidji, MN, passed away, at 9:55 P/M, on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, IA.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Monday, April 4, 2016, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 P/M to 5 P/M, on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish rosary will be recited at 12:30 P/M.
Dorothy was born #6 of 11 children, on June 11, 1937, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Christianson) Brennan. She married Lynn Paulson, on February 8, 1958, in Fosston, MN.
Dorothy raised three (3) children and worked several jobs through the years, from soda jerk in Bemidji to Cutter at Rite-Hite, in Dubuque, from where she retired.
She loved her job and many friends from Rite-Hite. Dorothy enjoyed the river, camping, traveling, and after she retired, she and Lynn spent the winter months in Los Fresnos, TX, and on the beach in South Padre Island. She liked to stay busy and volunteered at St. Mary's Catholic School and Church.
Surviving are two (2) sons, Dean A. (Becky) Paulson, of Anamosa, IA, and Randall L. Paulson, of Ashville, NC; a daughter, Carol M. (Doug Schneider) King, of East Dubuque, IL; her special friend, Pamela Paulson; five (5) grandchildren, Clayton (Ashley) Paulson and Keith (Ashley) Paulson, Tanya M. (Hunter) King-Floyd and Shannon and Scott Paulson; fourteen (14) great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Heather (Toby) Heiken, Rachael Bauer and Jim (Sara) Bauer; two (2) brothers, John (Kay) Brennan and Clair (Bernie) Brennan; six (6) sisters, Louise Mulvaney, Margaret Roberts, Roberta (Ronnie) Werstlein, Alvena Dybsand, Clara (Gene) Manecke and Jamie (Bill) Cassavant; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; her parents, Frank and Clara; her brother, Frank (Marlene) Brennan, a sister, Ellen (Dale) Brule; and her sister-in-law and dear friend, Lila Neumann.
