Obituary
Dorothy A. Kort, 90, of Scales Mound, IL, formerly of Mount Carroll, IL, and West Dundee, IL, passed away at 10:56 P/M, Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at home, surrounded by her family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Monday, April 7, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Scales Mound. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 P/M to 7 P/M, on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where the parish prayer service will be Sunday at 3 P/M. Friends may also call after 9:30 A/M, Monday, at the church.
Dorothy was born on January 16, 1924, in New London, WI, the daughter of George and Ann (Klatt) Dunlavy. She married Howard Kort on August 30, 1947, in Clintonville, WI. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1980.
She retired from the Dundee Township Public Library in 1999 after 29 years of service. She loved reading, playing the piano, and taking good care of her family and her kitties.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel, of Milwaukee, WI, and Bruce, of Scales Mound, IL; and a daughter, Elizabeth, of Scales Mound, IL; one brother, Edward, of Clintonville, WI; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John; her husband, Howard; and two daughters, Kathleen and Barbara.
