Dorothy J. Koeller, 99, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 10:03 A/M, on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A/M, on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish rosary will be recited at 3:45 P/M.
Mrs. Koeller was born on February 12, 1916, near Kieler, WI, the daughter of William and Helen (Kirchberg) Lenstra. She was united in marriage to Raymond R. Koeller, on February 18, 1935, at Immaculate Conception Church, at Kieler. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1983.
Dorothy was formerly employed at the State Bank of East Dubuque, the University of Dubuque, and St. Rose Priory-Aquinas Institute, in Dubuque, until her retirement. She was an excellent cook, known for her homemade bread and jelly, canning, and enjoyed gardening and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by four (4) daughters, Shirley Peacock, of Dubuque, IA, Betty Craig and Debbie (Dan) Spahn, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Geraldine (Jerry) Roth, of East Dubuque, IL; her daughter-in-law, Donna Koeller, of East Dubuque, IL; eighteen (18) grandchildren; twenty-nine (29) great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond R. Koeller; a son, Melvin R. Koeller, on April 6, 2014; and a brother, Hank Lenstra.
