Donald C. Havertape, 81, of Hazel Green, WI, passed away at 7 A/M, Sunday, January 26, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services, in Dubuque, IA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Friday, January 31, 2014, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Sinsinawa, WI, with Rev. Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, Thursday, January 30th, and from 9 A/M to 10 A/M, Friday, January 31st, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where the parish scripture service will be at 3:45 P/M, Thursday.

Donald was born on January 20, 1933, near Dickeyville, WI, the son of Joseph and Marie (Timmerman) Havertape. He farmed until retirement. Donnie was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and its Holy Name Society.

He loved all sports and his favorite teams included the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed his niece and nephews sporting events and those of his great-nieces and nephews. Donnie enjoyed bowling and for many years was a member of several traveling euchre teams.

Surviving is his sister, Eileen (Merlin) Hilby, of East Dubuque, IL; his nephews, Gary (Lori) Hilby, of East Dubuque, IL, Glen Hilby, of Hazel Green, WI; his niece, Lisa (Matt) Schuster, of LaMotte, IA; and his ten great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie; and a nephew, Greg Hilby.
