Dean J. Fleege, 65, of Dubuque, IA, and formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Hawkeye Care Center, in Asbury, with his family by his side.
A Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
There will be a Memorial visitation after 9:30 A/M, on Saturday, at the church.
Dean was born on October 8, 1952, in Dubuque, the son of Dorrance J. and Virginia (Graham) Fleege.
He was a 1970 graduate of Wahlert High School and later received an honorary Associates degree from Loras College.
Dean was a man of strong faith. He had a friendly smile and greeting for everyone he met and considered everyone he met his friend. His last years were spent at Ecumenical Tower, where he made many friends.
Surviving are his siblings, Barb (Roger) Kramer and Madelyn Tranel, both of East Dubuque, IL, and Daniel (Kelly) Fleege, of Dubuque, IA; many nieces; nephews; and great nieces and great nephews; his sister-in-law, Nancy Fleege, of Placentia, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorrance and Virginia; and two brothers, David and Donald.
The family would like to "thank" his Caregivers at Hawkeye Care Center, Hillcrest Mental Health, Dr. Mark Hermann, and the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dubuque, specifically Edna, Jennie, Peggy and Suzanne.
The Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, is serving the family.
