Mrs. Gerald (Darlys T. Meyer) Stoeffler, 59, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 8 P/M on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 P/M on Monday, May 25, 2015, at St. Mary's Church in East Dubuque, with Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 P/M to 6 P/M on Sunday, May 24, 2015, and from 11 A/M to 12:30 P/M, on Monday May 25, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque.
Darlys was born on January 6, 1956, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Merlin and Joanne (Schiffer) Meyer. She was a graduate of Western Dubuque High School, Class of 1974.
She was formerly employed at Dubuque OB/GYN, Medical Associates Internal Medicine Department and Runde Chevrolet.
Darlys was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her main focus in life was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed horses, baking, cooking, going to the cabin up North and reading books, especially her Bible.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Stoeffler; their children, Jane (Ryan) Reed, of Arlington, VA, Shawn Mercer, of East Dubuque, IL, Karli Schoenfeld, of Clinton, IA, Michael (Terra) Stoeffler and Caleb (Amy) Mercer, both of East Dubuque, IL; nine (9) grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Jacob, Cole, Elaine, Raegan, Landon, Noelle and Malia; her mother, Joanne Meyer, of Bernard, IA; her siblings, Dianne (Jeff) Reiter, of Cascade, IA, Duane (Laura) Meyer, of LaMotte, IA, Donna (Jim) Burright of Ankeny, IA, and Dale (Lisa) Meyer, of Bernard, IA; a sister-in-law, Darlene Meyer, of Cascade, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Merlin Meyer; a son, Daryl Mercer; and a brother, Dennis Meyer.
