Obituary

Cletus C. Tranel, 82, of Galena, IL, and formerly of Menominee, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Nativity BVM Church, in Menominee, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in Nativity BVM Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #787 of East Dubuque.

Visitation will be from 2 P/M to 7 P/M, on Friday, November 27, 2015, and from 8:45 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 1:45 P/M, on Friday, and the East Dubuque American Legion will meet at 6:30 P/M, on Friday.

Cletus was born on February 24, 1933, in Menominee Township, of Jo Daviess County, the son of Elmer J. and Lorena (Wubben) Tranel. He married Sharon Sincock, on June 13, 1964, at Nativity BVM Church, Menominee.

He was formerly employed at Klein Implement in Galena, and later at Roeder Bros., in Dubuque, retiring in 1994. Clete was a very talented mechanic and was well respected in the tractor implement business. He was a member of Nativity BVM Parish, in Menominee. Clete was a veteran of the U S Marine Corps, serving in the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon; four (4) sisters, Merla Carl, of Galena, IL, Doris (Earl) Hasken, of East Dubuque, IL, Arletta (Joseph) Fransen and LaVonne (Cletus) Kaiser, both of Dubuque, IA; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Colleen Dempsey, of Galena, IL, and Diane (Isadore) Kowalski, of Cuba City, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three (3) brothers-in-law, Glenn Carl, Kenny Jestice and Ray Dempsey; a sister-in-law, Beverly Jestice; a nephew, Kevin Carl; and a niece, Linda Fransen-Delaney.

In lieu of flowers, a Cletus C. Tranel Memorial Fund has been established.
