Clarice B. Distler, 99, of Galena, IL, formerly of Scales Mound, IL, passed away at 1 P/M, Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community, where she had resided since August, 2011.

Private family services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, with Rev. Jim McCrea officiating.

Burial will be in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Distler was born on September 19, 1914, near Stockton, IL, the daughter of Delbert D. and Evelyn (Colyar) Carpenter. She married Arthur W. Distler on July 5, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2012. They moved from Scales Mound to Galena in 1974, and formerly resided on Buckhill Road.

She was formerly employed at Micro-Switch in Freeport and Warren.

Surviving are three children, Gerald (Manila) Robson, Shirley (Tom) Hawk, and David Robson; ten grandchildren, Eugene, Jackie, Kurt, Scott, Randy, Dane and Darin Robson, Rebecca Zeiter, Cindy Shaw and Nikki Robson; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Boyer, of Lena, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Vern O. Carpenter; and a sister, Florence Bonjour.

Clarice's family would like to "thank" the staff at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community for the wonderful care provided to Clarice.

There will also be a celebration of Clarice's life at a later date.
