Christian Frederick Koeller, 76, of Dickeyville, WI, died peacefully while sleeping, on Friday, November 13, 2015, at The Finley Hospital, in Dubuque, IA, surrounded by his loved ones. He had bravely battled lung cancer for a year.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Holy Ghost Church, in Dickeyville, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, WI.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Monday, November 16th, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, where the Parish Prayer Service will be at 3:45 P/M, on Monday. Visitation will also be from 9:30 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Tuesday, November 16th, at the church.
He grew up in Potosi, WI, with eleven (11) siblings, eldest son of the late Catherine and Frederick (Helen) Koeller. A great fan of western books and movies, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, loved watching the birds and playing euchre.
He was formerly employed at the John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 1992, and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #94, and a member of Holy Ghost Parish. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Chris is survived by Betty (Schulting) Koeller, his wife of almost forty-four (44) years; and six (6) children, Richard, Rochelle, Russell (Jody), Robert (Dana), Renee (Aaron) Nieckula, and Ryan (Tricia); he also leaves behind twenty-two (22) grandchildren; and six (6) great-grandchildren; his siblings, Mary Joan Brown, Gertie (Dave) Riehle, Mike (Shirley), Fred (Ginny), Pat (Joann), Greg (Sarah), Debbie (Charlie) Edmondson, Randy (Sue), Kevin (Gayle), Cindy, and Rodney (Dawn).
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Petranella (Pratt) Koeller, on January 29, 1971; his daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Patrick Moody; and his granddaughter, Monika Moody.
