Cherillyn Kay "Cheri" Sisler, 67, of Galena, IL, passed away at 5:53 P/M, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at U/W Hospital & Clinics, Madison, WI.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Galena, with Rev. Max Lasrado officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Galena, where the parish scripture service will be at 3:45 P/M.
Cheri was born on April 23, 1946, at Mercy Hospital, in Dubuque, IA, to Clyde and Vivian (Bray) Sisler.
She was a 1964 graduate of Galena High School and graduated from Clarke College, in Dubuque, in 1968. Cheri was a life long resident of Galena and a member of St. Michael's Parish.
She was an elementary school teacher at Immaculate Conception Grade School, Kieler, WI, St. Mary's Grade School and Galena Elementary School, both in Galena, until her retirement.
Cheri loved visiting and playing cards with her friends at Camp Delton Club, being with her nephews and niece and their children, and traveling, especially to Yellowstone National Park, and volunteering at St. Michael's Parish.
Survivors include her mother, Vivian Sisler, of Galena, IL; two brothers, Michael (Lynn) Sisler, of Galena, IL, and Gary (Suzannah) Sisler, of Madison, WI; her nephews, Paul, Brad, and Andy Sisler; her niece, Shannah Garofalo; and by her grand nieces, Mia Garofalo, and Emily and Brie Sisler; and by her grand nephews, Graham and Evan Sisler, and Nicco Garofalo; and her many Bray cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Sisler
Cheri's whole family appreciated her devotion to her mother and the wonderful care that she gave her.
