Carolyn was born February 10, 1943, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Roy J. and Viola C. (Kintzle) Pfohl. She was a graduate of Wahlert High School, the Class of 1961.  On September 7, 1963, she was united in marriage to Merlin H. Anthony, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, in Sherrill, IA.  He preceded her in death on June 18, 1990.

Carol farmed with her husband, Merlin. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and its CCW. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Society Ladies Group and enjoyed bowling.

Carol was defined by boundless love and unwavering support for those she held dear. She found great joy in being a grandma, never missing a chance to cheer from the stands, attend graduations, birthday parties, and weddings celebrating milestones, achievements and moments that mattered to her grandchildren. Over the last two years she beamed with pride each time she announced the arrival of a new great-grandchild, her joy growing with every addition to the family. Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories.

Surviving are her children, Patty (Chris) Heiderscheit, of Holmen, WI, Joan Anthony, of Boscobel, WI, Julie (Dean Altmann) Kriewald, of West Salem, WI, Jerome (Lisa) Anthony, of Cuba City, WI, Lisa (Brian) Bockhop, of Dodgeville, WI and Dennis Anthony,of Rockton, IL; 14 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren and one on the way; her brother, Harlan (Janet) Pfohl, Dubuque, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Viola; her husband, Merlin; sister, Audrey Oberfoell; and brother, Robert Pfohl.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Point, Hospice of Dubuque, and Home Instead for their kind and compassionate care.
