Carol Ann Wurm, 61, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away at 4 P/M, Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community, with her family by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A/M, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Scales Mound, with Fr. Max Lasrado, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Scales Mound.

Friends may call from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where the parish scripture service will be at 2:45 P/M. Friends may also call after 9 A/M, Saturday, at the church.

Carol Ann was born on October 25, 1952, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Melvin and Emma Lou (Wand) Altfillisch. She married Rodney W. "Rod" Wurm on October 30, 1971, in Scales Mound. Carol Ann and Rod farmed in rural Scales Mound.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, a graduate of Scales Mound High School, loved watching and participating in various sporting events, listening to music of the 60's, and was very devoted to her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Rod; two daughters, Angie (Chris) Koehn, of Freeport, IL, Melissa (Jeremy) Soppe; and a son, William (fiancee, Amanda Brant) Wurm, both of Scales Mound, IL; eight grandchildren, Cameron, Kaitlan & Kristin Koehn, Ethan & Aidan Soppe, Jillian, Madison & Makayla Wurm; three loving siblings, Linda Lou (Thomas) Bunker, of Wisconsin, Kevin (Elizabeth) Altfillisch, of Freeport, IL, and Barry (Shari) Altfillisch, of Scales Mound, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rhonda Sue Wurm and future son-in-law, Darin Oellerich, both of whom died on June 21, 1999; her father-in-law, Keith Wurm; mothers-in-law, Helen Wurm and Glada Wurm; and a nephew, Jason Altfillisch.
