Joachim Tyrtania officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Carol was born on September 14, 1935, near Hanover, IL, the daughter of Francis "Fred" and Rose (Hudson) Schuller.  She was united in marriage to Stephen L. Kieffer on December 22, 1955, at St. Mary's Church in Galena, IL. Steve preceded her in death on September 23, 2016.

Carol was a graduate of Galena High School, the Class of 1953. She previously worked for the Eaton Corporation, retiring after 21 years of service. Carol was a former member of the Scales Mound Lioness Club, Holy Trinity Church and its Rosary Society.

She looked forward to the Sunday morning gatherings with her children for coffee, the family get togethers for birthdays and especially the holidays, and the Friday morning meetings with her lady friends for breakfast and coffee. Carol enjoyed golfing, a good game of euchre and the fun trips to the casino. On her 88th birthday, Carol and the girls were getting ready to leave the casino and she decided to try one more slot. (She won $18,888.88). A very nice birthday gift.

Surviving are her four children, Pam (Steve) Koester, Patti (Dave) Glasgow, Paula (Al) Busch and Todd (Vickie) Kieffer, all of Scales Mound, IL; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rose; her husband, Steve; a granddaughter, Tracy Glasgow; her siblings, Elma Green, Marge Reifsteck, Mary Edler, Betty Darnell, Laura Lindsey, Melrose Stodden, Francis Schuller and infant brother, Harold.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff from Hospice of Dubuque, especially Jessica, for the wonderful care given to their mother.
