"Bud" Nesbitt

C. H. "Bud" Nesbitt, 86, of rural Apple River, IL, passed away at 11:25 P/M, on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Funeral Services will be at 10 A/M, on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Scales Mound, with Rev. Mark Oehlert officiating. Burial will be in Shepherd of the Hills Cemetery, Schapville, IL, where military honors will be accorded by members of Berryman-Doran-Bainbridge V.F.W. Post #5300 of Hanover
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Scales Mound.
Bud was born on June 4, 1932, near Savanna, IL, the son of Earl E. and Lucile (Householder) Nesbitt. He was a graduate of Savanna High School, Class of 1951. Bud was united in marriage to Neva Boldt on May 3, 1952, in Savanna. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2009.
Bud was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He and Neva formerly operated "The Place Bar" in Scales Mound from 1972-1976. He later operated the Hanover Lumber Company until his retirement. Bud drove school bus for the Scales Mound School District and was a teacher's assistant in construction trades for the Jo Daviess County Vocational School. He was an Eagle Scout, a lifetime member of the Hanover V.F.W. Post, and the Savanna Moose Club. Bud was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Surviving are two daughters, Karlene "Karlie" White, of Apple River, IL, and Kathy (Terry) Arnold, of Cedar Rapids, IA; two grandsons, Jason and Tyler Arnold; three step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughtersm, Emma and Eila; and nine step great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Nesbitt, of Rock Falls, IL, Karen Nesbitt, of Sandwich, IL, Dale Nesbitt, of California, Ronald Nesbitt, of North Aurora, IL, and Vicki Gibson, of Cuba City, WI; and very special friend, Dorena "Dee" Menzemer, of Hazel Green, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Neva; son-in-law, Bill White; grandson, Andrew Nesbitt; step great-grandchild, Trent Edwards; and sister, Patti Parkinson.
