Burnell J. "Butch" Timmerman, 70, of St. Donatus, IA, formerly of Dickeyville, WI, died at 9:05 A/M, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services, Dubuque, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10 A/M, Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Dickeyville, WI, where military honors will be conducted by members of the Dubuque Marine Corps League.
Friends may call from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where the parish prayer service will be at 3:45 P/M, Friday. Friends may also call after 9 A/M, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burnell was born on February 15, 1942, in Paris Township, Grant County, WI, the son of Cletus N. and Mary B. (Wiederholt) Timmerman. Burnell married Janet Pitzen on July 3, 1965, at Potosi, WI.
Burnell was formerly employed at the John Deere Dubuque Works retiring in December, 1999. He was a former member of UAW Local #94. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was a car enthusiast. He loved tinkering with his cars. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (Pitzen) Timmerman; three children, Lori Timmerman, Stoughton, WI, Lisa (Larry) Hoch, Eau Claire, WI, and John (Carolyn) Timmerman, Dubuque, IA; 4 grandchildren, Danielle, Shaun, Jakob, and Shane; his siblings, Ambrose J. (Jarda) Timmerman, Viroqua, WI, Kenneth J. Timmerman, Potosi, WI, Stephen J. (Janice) Timmerman, Elkhorn, WI, Betty (Bill) Cullen, The Villages, FL, and DiAnn (Joe) Bialkowski, Corunna Ontario, Canada.
Burnell was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, Emily, and three brothers, Allen R, Daniel A. and Earl C. Timmerman.
