Bev A. (White) Glasgow, 73, of Scales Mound, IL died peacefully Thursday, December 20, 2012, at home surrounded by her family.
Friends may call after 10 A/M, Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where funeral services will be held at 2 P/M, Sunday, with Pastor James Friesen officiating. Burial will be in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.
Bev was born on November 23, 1939, the only child of Delmar & Lauretta (Zirkelback) White. Fifty-five years ago on June 23, 1957 she married the love of her life, Gordon Glasgow. They had two children, Julie Ann Glasgow VanRaalte & Jody LaVern Glasgow.
Bev & Gordy own and operate Glasgow Trucking in Scales Mound. They dairy farmed hand and hand on the family farm bordering Scales Mound for over fifty years. "Bamma Weedwacker" as her grandchildren called her was well known for her love of mowing lawn. She prided herself on her beautiful farm. Christmas time was her favorite time of year. Everyone waited for the annual lighting of the "hill". We teased her that her Christmas lights could be seen from Mars. Bev's love for Country Music was known by all. WJOD plays 24/7. She and her "Concert Groupies" would travel far and wide to attend Country Music concerts, especially Toby Keith. Her buddy, Miss Ali Lou, the family dog, will be forever looking for her.
Her family was the light of her life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all knew Bamma would have cookies waiting for them on any given day. Dad's lil Sweetheart will be sadly missed by all.
Bev was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Savanna, IL.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon Glasgow; two children, Julie (Stewart) VanRaalte and Jody (Tammy) Glasgow; five grandchildren, Chet (Tina) VanRaalte, and Quenten VanRaalte (fiance, Sarah Plear), all of Scales Mound, IL, Ashlee (Adam) Miller, of Peosta, IA, Gavin and Chase Glasgow; three great grandchildren, Chelsey, Laney & Mitchell "Buddy" VanRaalte, all of Scales Mound; and she was excited for Baby Miller expected in June of 2013.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to those who took such loving care of our Mom, Tammy Glasgow, Sarah Plear, and Diana Bagby. Your love and devotion will always be remembered.
