Betty Ann Borman, 86, of Manor Care Health Services, Platteville, WI, formerly of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away at 3:24 A/M, Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Manor Care.
Private family memorial services will be held at 2 P/M, Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Church of the Nazarene, 1195 Prysi Drive, Dubuque, IA. The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is assisting the family.
Betty was born on April 21, 1926, at Gary, IN, the daughter of Peter W. and Hattie (Parkhurst) Shear. She married Emil R. Borman on April 23, 1942, at Gary. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2004.
She was an extremely loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty loved animals, being with her children and grandchildren, and had a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her 11 children, Emil Borman, Jr, of Madisonville, KY, Henry (Brenda) Borman, of Michigan City, IN, Edwin (Sally) Borman, of LaPorte, IN, Donald (Joan) Borman, of Dakota, IL, Betty Hawkinson, of Hazel Green, WI, Barbara (Bill) Euler and George (Bonnie) Borman, both of Freeport, IL, Louise Borman, of Platteville, WI, Thomas (Judy) Borman, of Kearney, NE, Linda Dolphin, of Wausau, WI, and Hattie (Rich) Borman Pfeiffer, of Conroy, IA; 34-grandchildren; 66-great- grandchildren; 18-great great-grandchildren; and her brother, Peter W. (Leona) Shear, of Ft. Myers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; a son-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Hawkinson; two daughters-in-law, Linda Borman and Patricia Borman; a grandchild, James Dolphin, Jr; a step-grandchild, Julie Hoffman; and by four sisters, Dorothy Shear, Florence Taylor, Pearl Fumes and Ethel Rozsa.
