Obituary
Betti M. Cook, 90, of ManorCare Health Center, Dubuque, IA, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 4 A/M, Sunday, December 22, 2013, at ManorCare.
Funeral Services will be at 11 A/M, Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bellevue, IA.
Friends may call after 9 A/M, Saturday, December 28th, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque.
Betti was born on February 6, 1923, in Pasadena, CA, the daughter of Raymond and Bertha (Maher) Merritt. She married Earl W. Cook on April 17, 1943, in Long Beach, CA. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2006.
Betti was a fantastic mother and grandmother. She loved camping, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing bridge.
Surviving are her children, David Cook, and Lisa (Jerome) Ingraham, both of Asotin, WA, John (Sue) Cook, of Lewiston, ID, Nate Cook, of Rochester, MN, Sue (Dan) Luning, of Galena, IL, and Drew (Terra) Cook, of Dubuque, IA; 12 Grandchildren, Gabe, Jenny, Josh, Anna, Nicole, Michael, Billy, Ashley, J W, Robert, Jamie and Jake; 13 Great Grandchildren, Malena, Xavier, Nicoli, Preston, Casey, Kori, Codi, Andy "Knuckles", Dee, Joey, The Big Kid, Myla and Ariana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dale Cook and Bill Cook; a daughter, Jenni (Cook) Weber; a daughter-in-law, Doris Cook; and two brothers, William and Tilton Merritt.
The family wishes to give "special thanks" to the staff at ManorCare and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care provided to their mother.
