Bernice C. (Budden) Fleege, 89, of Fairplay, WI, passed away at 5:50 P/M, on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Epione Pavilion, Cuba City, WI.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A/M, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at St. Joseph's Church, Sinsinawa, WI, with Fr. Ken Frisch & Fr. Ron Kruel officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Tuesday, November 17th, and from 10 A/M to 10:45 A/M, on Wednesday, November 18th, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, where the Parish Prayer Service will be at 3:45 P/M and members of Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department will meet at 6:30 P/M, both on Tuesday.
She was born August 28, 1926, to William G. and Catherine A. (Ressel) Budden, and married Joseph B. Fleege, on June 11, 1947, at St. Joseph's Church, Sinsinawa, WI. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and the Wisconsin Teachers Association.
Bernice began teaching in 1944 after receiving her certification from Platteville Teachers' College. The early years of her career found her in a number of "one room" school houses. She interrupted her profession in 1949 to start her family and returned to teaching in 1961. She taught nearly thirty (30) years with the Hazel Green, Wisconsin School District, retiring in 1988.
Bernice is survived by her children, Glenn (Debbie) Fleege, of LaCrosse, WI, and Alan (Pegg) Fleege, of East Dubuque, IL; grandchildren, Gina (Darren) Zumach, of Onalaska, WI, Nick (Lassen) Fleege, of Rockton, IL, and Benjamin Fleege, of Hazel Green, WI; great-grandchildren, Cooper, River and Bode Zumach; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary (Jim) Doyle, of Scales Mound, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Rosalyn (Clinton) Anker.
