Audrey E. (Bergman) Winter, 83, of Galena, IL, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, at home.

Public graveside services will be at 4 P/M, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery, in Galena, with Rev. Stacy Cavanaugh and Rev. Roy Lewis, a family friend, officiating.

There will be no public visitation. The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, of Galena, is in charge of arrangements.

Audrey was born on July 29, 1932, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Ellsworth and Berenice (Hess) Bergman. She was united in marriage to James W. Winter, on July 26, 1958, at Westminster Presbyterian Church (formerly known as the South Presbyterian Church) in Galena.

She was a graduate of the University of Dubuque, an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and taught in the Galena School System for seven (7) years.

Surviving are her husband, James W. Winter; a son, Thomas Winter; and a sister, Nancy Buening, all of Galena, IL; a very special niece, Rebecca (Michael) Buening-Ferris and her family of Davenport, IA. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Berenice Bergman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque, Westminster Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to "thank" the staff at Hospice of Dubuque and her numerous caregivers for all the loving care given during her final illness.
